LONDON GUIDE: Good Restaurants For A Low Budget

Dinner, a blessing but also a struggle when you're in an unknown city. You have to eat, and the choices of restaurants in London are endless. Overwhelming, I'd even say. You could walk around for an hour, pass fifty restaurants and still end up feeling like you haven't found a one that just feels right. Some are too expensive, some too old-fashioned, most of them are too crowded (seriously, why are people waiting in lines in front of restaurants, blows my mind). It's a hard pick out of all of them. And especially when you're restricted to a lower budget and aren't able to just walk in anywhere you want.

Luckily I'm here to come to the rescue, and you can take my opinion very seriously as I'm an expert in eating and get even happier when it's not too pricey. I've got 4 restaurants for 4 different moods that have multiple locations throughout London, so hopefully, there'll be a favourite for you as well!

Bill's
Bill’s honestly is an amazing restaurant. They’ve got breakfast, lunch, dinner and everything in between. They serve proper English food here as well. You can come here for typical English dishes like Fish & Chips and Meat Pies but with a fun twist. But the nice thing about Bill’s is that they have something good for everyone. Some dishes are more on trend, like their Chicken Curry or Salad Bowls, there’s enough meat for all the meat lovers and multiple vegetarian dishes as well.

The prices are great, the food is delicious, and the interior is amazing as well. Often you’re greeted by big flowers and plants from the outside, so it’s super recognizable, and inside it’s comfortable and trendy. A really nice experience to go here for dinner and a good spot to come back to. And if you go there for just a drink, take a scone, they’re amazing!

TGIFridays
Okay, maybe I’ve missed the memo on this restaurant, because it’s probably all over the world already but I had dinner here for the first time in London and I’m in love. It’s the most greasy type of fast food, and so gross that it’s actually really good. If you’re unsure what to eat, and just want something simple like burgers and fries, but don’t want to go to dear old McDonalds, then try Friday’s. It’s greasy, it’s cheesy and delicious. They have burgers, Spareribs, Chicken and Steak, and all that type of stuff, you know what I mean.

Apart from the food, they have amazing cocktails as well. Seriously, I’d come back, even just for the cocktails.

Slug & Lettuce
Cocktails, cocktails, COCKTAILS! Oh wait, this was about dinner. But they serve cocktails as well. Two for the price of one, every night. Just saying. Slug & Lettuce is a trendy restaurant. A super fun place to take your friends to and start your night with. Eat a Burger, Flatbread, Wrap or Curry or share a meal platter together. Really, they’ve got about everything, even dishes under 600 kcal for the people who want to watch what they eat. The food is great and a good filler for your tummy before you start drinking. The interior is also super nice and fun and it’s not that expensive.

I’d really recommend this restaurant if you want to go out in London and start your evening somewhere. This is definitely the place. You can also go here for a nice brunch or afternoon tea.

YO! Sushi
Sushi! Who doesn’t love Asian food? Only silly people, that’s for sure. Now in London you can get tons of sushi, literally on every corner you’ll probably find another restaurant that sells it. But YO! Sushi has something extra that makes it just that bit more special and worth to walk just that bit further for. The sushi is served on a ‘kaiten’ conveyor belt, so you can choose and pick which dish you want to get and take it from the belt yourself. The dishes are also presented on colour coded plates, which shows the price of the dish. So you can decide for yourself how much you want to eat and can easily keep track of you much you’re spending. Or you can just enjoy however you want and deal with the check later.

Apart from sushi they serve Japanese street food as well so if you’re taking someone that doesn’t like sushi (can’t relate), there’s something for them as well. I have to say, it might not be the best sushi you’ve ever tasted – not that there’s anything wrong with it, it’s still delicious – but the experience is definitely very enjoyable as well, and sometimes it’s about more than just the taste of the dish.

China Town
Since we’re on the topic of Asian food anyway, I just wanted to mention China Town as well. If you’re around Leicester Square or Covent Garden anyway and you love Asian food, go have a walk around China Town. You’ll find amazing restaurants here with typical Asian dishes and it’s super fun to walk around, an amazing vibe. There’s Japanese food, Chinese and Indonesian as well as Korean. Have a walk around and pop inside one of the restaurants for super good food, or a lovely traditional Asian snack like a Bubble waffle or Taiyaki (fish shaped ice cream cone).

Enjoy your food! ;) Oh and! Follow my blog with Bloglovin
